This is followed by teaching techniques by our qualified instructors. Kids will practice these techniques under proper supervision. If appropriate and there is the time at the end of class will have sparing, again under proper supervision.
We feel that we offer one of the strongest kids Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in Auburn and Placer County.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art, combat sport, and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition or self-defense. Sparring (commonly referred to as “rolling”) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through its ranking system. Not only will you get top-notch training and guidance you’ll also get a rigorous workout and mental chess game with this martial art!
Learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) will teach kids coordination, body awareness, discipline, respect, confidence, problem-solving, fitness, socialization, and self-defense. All of these are extremely valuable to growth and health of all kids.
